The Old City of Acco

The city of Acco is approximately 5,000 years old. It is mentioned only once in the Hebrew Bible, being one of the places from where the Jews did not expel the original Canaanite population of the land. Having a mostly Arab or Islamic history, Acco also has many interesting buildings from the era of the Christian Crusaders.

The general atmosphere of the Old City greatly resembles the Muslim quarter in Jerusalem, majority of the population being Arabs. The size of the walled Old City of Acco is 0.14 kmē.
