Hulah Valley

The Hulah Valley once had a large lake surrounded by swamps, but in the 1950’s Israel drained the valley, wishing to convert the wet soil into farming land. The quality of the land for agriculture has not been quite so good as was hoped, however. A small pool still remains of the Hulah Lake, bringing joy to a multitude of birds.
