Small Crater The so-called “craters” in the Negev desert were formed as water caused erosion to a soft layer of stone under the bedrock in a large area. Finally the ground collapsed into a pot-shaped valley, which visually resembles a crater (while it has nothing to do with asteroids falling on the ground). The Small Crater covers an area of 30 kmē, being the third-largest such landscape in the Negev desert. More information:
