Tel Yericho

Yericho is possibly the oldest town in the world, settled continuously for 11,000 years. The ruins in the area include the ancient Old City and a few palaces built by King Herod, but none of these sites is in a very spectacular condition. A cable car takes tourists also to the Christian monastery on Mount Quruntul.
